FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
What level of hair color will semi-permanent colors show up on?
The new collection shades can be used on levels 8-10. -
How do I use pulp riot semi-permanent color?
Apply to clean, dry hair. Leave on for 25-40 min. At room temperature. No developer, use straight out of the tube. Rinse thoroughly without shampooing. -
Can semi-permanent colors be mixed together?
Yes. Pulp riot semi-permanent colors can all be mixed with each other to create custom colors. You are the artist. -
What else should I consider?
Pulp riot semi-permanent colors are most vibrant on pre-lightened hair. Any residue left in the hair can undermine color results, so make sure to shampoo lightener and toners out completely with no conditioner. -
How do you use the color "clear"?
Clear can be used two ways! 1. To dilute your colors, making them lighter (more pastel) or 2. By itself to add shine. -
How long does the color last?
We like to think of it as "how long does the color fade" because it's designed to fade. Each color goes through a vibrant period and then gradually fades away into lighter pastel versions of themselves. For most people, the deeper tones will fade over 40 washes and the lighter tones will fade over 20 washes until the color is fully out. -
Do semi-permanent colors bleed?
Pulp riot semi-permanent colors don't bleed like other color lines. You can see on our Instagram feed thousands of different photos where one color is placed next to another color without any bleeding. When high contrasting colors are next to each other, to avoid bleeding while rinsing, hold the lighter pieces out of the shampoo bowl until all the darker color has been rinsed. Noir is our most pigmented color. Care should be taken when placing it directly next to a lighter color to minimize the chance of bleeding. -
Are the semi-permanent colors vegan and animal cruelty free?
Yes. Pulp riot products are vegan (no animal derived ingredients or byproducts) and not tested on animals.
